My Journey

Clients often ask how I became a therapist of beauty and health, many ask if I chose it as a career on leaving school.
In 1996 I was introduced to a beauty show, I had no concept of beauty procedures or what holistic health even meant , at that show treatments were offered to me which I willingly accepted. Nothing prepared me on how they made me feel both physically and mentally and needless to say I was hooked.
After attending a private college to gain recognised qualifications I had my dream job. The memories of that first day are painting a clients nails and thinking wow, Im actually doing a job that I love and get paid for. The passion and feelings still remain with me today, 24years later.
Hower in 2004 my health took a turn for the worst with toxic poisoning and I thought that was the end of my beauty career, how wrong could I have been, it led me on a journey of discovery and back to health through holistic treatments especially reflexology and reiki.
In 2005 Beauty and Complimentary Health was founded after a friend encouraged me to set up a treatment room in Chapeltown ,Sheffield. I introduced client's to 'Sugaring' hair removal and many other therapies and they in turn introduced their families and friends. Overnight the little room was out grown and fortunately a larger salon was found only a stone throw away.

When the recession of 2008 hit many businesses unfortunately were taken, the beauty industry thrived. Through personal experience I understood why. Women need to feel and look good for many reasons. It is empowering both mentally and physically, it is an escape from being a mum or a wife , it is something we do for ourselves....
Beauty and Complimentary Health is now in its 19th year of business and I can only thank the many client's for their continued loyalty and unswerving believe.
